Social media marketing is a shape-shifting realm that marketers and consumers use to navigate much of the media world today. Absolute Marketing Solutions headed to Orlando last week for OrlandoiX 2015, the inaugural digital media conference that featured renowned speakers from the likes of NFL, Dell, Coca-Cola and more, to learn about the newest trends and predictions in the world of social media marketing to learn how to tell better stories through digital experiences.
How do you leverage social media marketing for your business?
Like much of technology, part of the joy of digital is trying to grasp the future ahead of the curve, and to find innovative ways of using technology now to our advantage in getting intended messages across.
So what is the best way to do this? The new social media marketing trifecta belongs to Snapchat, Instagram and YouTube, according to Melissa Albers, the Social Media Director from Full Sail University.
Engagement is through the roof on these platforms. “Of the 100 million Snapchat users, 60 percent of them use it daily,” said Albers at a panel at OrlandoiX. While a lot of millennials are using Facebook and Twitter, they’re there for other purposes. Think of how you might be using Facebook to connect with your cousins abroad, on how your mom is on Facebook now too, and you post photos of your travels. We’re in the middle of a digital paradigm shift, and it’s important to realize what works and what doesn’t work for businesses and brands.
The flow
Social media is an ever-changing landscape that helps brands and companies seamlessly weave their story with a compelling narrative – if done well. It helps to build trust for consumers, and to engage with products in a way we never could before in a traditional media world.
