This Intern Program Allows Students to Grow Their Website Design Skills

Tampa, FL – August 2013 – Absolute Marketing Solutions, a Tampa digital marketing agency specializing in mobile application development and responsive website design, is proud to announce an internship program in partnership with the International Academy of Design and Technology (IADT) in Tampa.

Absolute brought in three IADT design students: Kerri Jones, Michael Mhley and Todd Conner. The skills they had learned in school were put to work by designing a website for a local charity, the Westchase Charitable Foundation (WCF).

As part of the project, these interns had to build personas, come up with a design, find a suitable theme and then build it in WordPress. They also had to craft the website and its design around the features that WCF desired. The design also had to highlight two big events that WCF puts on each year: the WestChase Cup, a golf tournament, and Tampa Bay Woman of the Year.

“We enjoyed having interns in the office because many of us remember that time,” said Absolute co-founder Alfred Goldberg. “The world seems so different when you’re still in school and haven’t tackled that first real project yet. I hope Kerri, Mike and Todd had a great experience with us and learned along the way.”

This partnership with IADT was meant to give these students experience and course credit over a 10 week internship.  In doing so, they could apply their education into a project the way it would be tackled at a company. It provided them experience working with a team in a limited time frame and with on-going client expectations.

The International Academy of Design and Technology is committed to providing students with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue success in their chosen careers. This ideal is built into the IADT system and expands from classes to internships.
