Absolute President Joins Governor Scott on Mission to Columbia

Tampa, FL – November 26, 2012 – Alfred Goldberg, co-founder of Absolute Marketing Solutions, will join Governor Rick Scott on a Team Florida Trade Mission to Bogota, Columbia this December. The trip is organized by Enterprise Florida, the lead economic development organization for the state of Florida.

Goldberg, along with other Florida business leaders including Tampa Bay Mayor Bob Buckhorn and former Florida Governor Bob Martinez, will visit Columbia from December 2^nd-5^th. Columbia is Florida’s second largest trading partner with trade totaling more than $9 billion in 2011.

The mission will bring together a high-level delegation of Florida business leaders desiring to market their goods and services in Columbia. Participants will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with Columbian companies and business leaders, as well as attend briefings with U.S. embassy officials. Goldberg will also be joining a part of the delegation visiting Tampa’s Sister City, Barranquilla which is a principal port for Columbia, from December 5^th-8^th.

“There are tremendous opportunities for companies like Absolute Marketing Solutions to expand its market share given the growth of Colombia’s economy and its secure business climate. That climate has been fostered in the past decade by improvements in security and political stability in the country,” said Goldberg. “Latin America represents one of the largest mobile markets in the world; Brazil alone is the world’s 6th largest mobile market. Latin America has a greater commonality of language than other regions. These things all lend to making Latin America an important market for Absolute Marketing Solutions.”

Earlier this year, Goldberg participated in a three country speaking tour in Latin America. “I presented on Mobile Marketing in Argentina, Peru, and Columbia. It was a perfect way to start the process of expanding into these markets,” said Goldberg. No stranger to trade missions, Goldberg also accompanied Mayor Buckhorn as a participant in the 2011 Sister Cities Trade Mission to Israel, organized by the Tampa Jewish Community Center & Federation.

According to Enterprise Florida, the lead economic development organization for the state of Florida, Colombia is among the top five destinations for Florida origin products, amounting to nearly $3 billion in trade. This reinforces the longstanding trade relationship between Florida and Colombia and confirms Florida’s cultural affinity with Latin America.
