Absolute Marketing Solutions wins a Platinum dotCOMM Award for the Taco Bus’s 2017 El Jefe Burrito Eating Championship, an experiential marketing campaign. The award was announced August 1st on the dotCOMM Awards website, which stated that the award winners are selected out of thousands of international entrants.
Absolute Marketing Solutions is one of two agencies worldwide who earned the Platinum award in the category of Interactive Brand Experience, and the only agency in Tampa to be awarded a Platinum award within any category this year.
The El Jefe campaign took place in the spring of 2017, over the six weeks leading up to National Burrito Day. To execute the marketing strategy, Absolute created a series of social marketing campaigns and promotions that would offer “Chido” ways for Taco Bus customers to engage with the brand. These events and promotions would occur across all locations.
“We wanted to emphasize the importance of the Mexican Lucha Libre culture, and build brand awareness of Taco Bus as a staple for authentic Mexican food in the Tampa scene,” said Miné Salkin, Digital Marketing Manager at Absolute Marketing Solutions.
“Celebrating the burrito as a symbol of that culture, and building an event where Taco Bus fans were directly engaging with the brand was a great way to capture our audience successfully,” said Ms. Salkin.
